Emerson and Claudia didn’t have much in common.
He was an intelligent loner; she was a shy, but beautiful,
sales representative. They didn’t like
the same movies or aspire to the same dreams.
But they did have one important thing in common: they both
needed someone, someone to help them move beyond their tragic pasts.
She had a past she could not manage to forget; he had a past
he could not manage to piece together.
It would be natural to wonder whom, or maybe what, was responsible
for their unlikely meeting on an icy road high in the Sierra
Mountains. Was it fate, God, forces of
nature, or just sheer dumb luck that brought them together?
Whatever it may have been, they were soon to realize that the
only chance either of them had for true peace delicately hinged on
the compassion of the other.
